Formed in 2004, BLODWEN is a female-fronted symphonic power metal band from Jakarta, Indonesia. The name "Blodwen" means "mountain white flower" in Welsh, where the vision of the band is to 'bloom' no matter where the flower is planted and how harsh the climate.
BLODWEN released their debut album "Black Symphony" in 2010 under Red Rivet Records (Japan) and gained recognition from the international media; the band is hailed as "one of the hidden treasures in Indonesia" and "Asia's first leading symphonic rock act". In 2013, the band released their infamous EP "When Autumn Ends" where it won 3rd place Best Album of 2013 in an UK radio competition for female rock/metal acts. BLODWEN was the only Asian nominee. The EP was re-released by Crysella Records (Europe), gaining more attention from the whole world; with international media calling it "symphonic metal with no pretension" and "one of the great discoveries of the year." In 2014, BLODWEN is endorsed by Spiral Direct (rock/gothic fashion label from UK) and the band shot their first music video "For A New World" to promote their upcoming 2nd album: "Winter Falls". The album will be released in Europe and America in November 2014 via Crysella Records. Aspiring to spread their music to the world, this is just the beginning of the journey for BLODWEN. |
Dibentuk di tahun 2004, BLODWEN merupakan band female-fronted symphonic power metal asal Jakarta, Indonesia. Arti nama "Blodwen" adalah "bunga putih gunung" dalam bahasa Welsh, dimana visi band ini adalah untuk "mekar" dimanapun bunga itu tertanam dan seburuk apapun "cuaca"nya.
BLODWEN merilis album debut "Black Symphony" di tahun 2010 dibawah Red Rivet Records (Jepang) dan mulai mendapat perhatian media internasional; BLODWEN dikatakan sebagai "salah satu harta tersembunyi di Indonesia" dan "band pertama di Asia yg terkemuka di symphonic rock". BLODWEN adalah satu-satunya nominasi dari Asia.
