Crysella Records' Jakarta/Indonesia based female fronted Symphonic-Power-Metal band "BLODWEN" securely marking up internationally with their "WHEN AUTUMN ENDS" album on the 18th April European and 19th April American official street-dates, which is also represented and available during the Recordstore Day highlights. The album comes in a special glossy digipak full-colored packaging incorporated with symphonic orchestra, neo-classical guitar, versatile vocal and theatrical elements in their music, combining the best from the East and the West.

Yup, it's official! "When Autumn Ends" will be re-produced and distributed to Europe and America! This is a huge step for us since it's been our dream to spread our music to the world-wide platform, and the past few months have been filled with wondrous opportunities and great news. Meanwhile, we are still busy preparing for the material in our second full-length album, which will feature completely brand new songs. Welcome to Indra Bayu Rusady on 2nd Guitar!

We are very excited to welcome Indra Bayu Rusady as an official member of Blodwen. Indra Bayu will be playing second guitar in the band, and we'll make sure to use his talents in playing guitar, bass and contrabass. Indra Bayu has a vast repertoire from jazz to heavy metal. He is also a classmate of Cis, and a music student himself.

For those of you who watched us in Metal Wars 2013 last December in Surabaya, you'd have met Indra Bayu in person. He played as a session musician in the band before, and in the tour to Surabaya he replaced Bayu Djody who couldn't make it to the tour with us. So you can say that he is experienced in playing with the band! Please wish Indra Bayu the best in his new journey with Blodwen. We are very sure that in the future, Indra Bayu will showcase his potential and determination in the band.

PSS) "Bayu" means "windy" in Sanskrit, now we have two "Bayu"s in the band. Blodwen is going to get chilly next year

Like how it went with Metal Storm, we had the opportunity to be reviewed in Femme Metal Webzine a few years back with our debut album "Black Symphony". Now we've come back to Femme Metal Webzine with the whooping score of 85/100 by the same reviewer! Here's what Femme Metal Webzine thinks of the EP:

Blodwen remains an impressive outfit. “When Autumn Ends” takes the listener on a journey of different emotions and nuances which is all the more impressive based on its 20-minute playing time.
I loved the debut and I love this one as well. Great stuff!

We are very excited to tell you that we are officially signed with Crysella Records Europe! The label is based in London and has branches all around the world. Which means our 2nd full-length album will be distributed physically to EU, Eastern Europe, North and South America - and basically the whole world. This is a huge honor for us as we are slowly but surely marking our signs in the international metal platform. Coming from a modest town in Indonesia, we are very blessed to gain this opportunity to spread our music to the world. Now we are HYPED to write a better, heavier new album soon!

This would have never been possible without the great support from our fans, family, and friends. We owe this to YOU! So thank you so much for believing in Blodwen! We have the BEST fans in the world. Wish us luck and success in our new journey with Crysella Records!

Thanks to all of your support and votes, Blodwen is listed as 3rd place in Best Album of 2013 of the Female Symphonic Rock & Metal Show from AiiRadio (UK)!

The other nominees are really respected, powerful bands, including bands like Amberian Dawn, Vandroya and Tyranny of Hours - to name a few. Being the only Asian nominee and listed with all of these great bands from all over the world is a huge honor for Blodwen and the experience has been very humbling. We'd like to thank all of our fans who made it happen. We'll make sure that our upcoming 2nd album is even better, and hopefully we can be nominated again next year!

10th Anniversary: Re-release of "Requiem for Odette"

10 years ago, this journey started in a modest town in the middle of Indonesia. Time passed by very quickly and without realizing it, Blodwen has celebrated our 10th anniversary as a band! We almost can't believe it ourselves. We have been striving with our own music for quite a while, but everything still feels brand new.

We realize that none of this would have been possible without our family, friends and most importantly, the fans support. Getting through 10 years is hard, and there were a lot of difficult times, but we never wanted to give up because we know that there are people out there who have faith in us. So to show our gratification towards all the people who have been supporting us since the very beginning, we are re-releasing our "Requiem for Odette" EP for FREE via BandCamp!

The option is actually free / name your price; which means if there's any of you who'd like to make a 'donation' with the gift of this EP, you're free to do whatever you wish. Or you can just enter "0" on the 'name your price' box and you'll get to download the EP in any format you want!

We released an extremely limited version of "Requiem" in 2012 (if not mistaken, less than 20) and when we listened to it again, we thought it'd be such a waste to let the songs forgotten and never had its deserved share of exposure. While we are still working on our second full-length album with all brand new songs, why not let the fans enjoy this EP first? So there you go, and we hope you enjoy it!

+ "Requiem for Odette" was written by Bernice who was inspired by Natalie Portman's movie "Black Swan" -- the movie became one of her all-time favorites
+ The last lyric of the song "it's perfect..." was the last line that Nina (the main character, played by Portman) said in the ending of the movie when she 'killed' herself
+ "Empty Song" was written when Bernice was overseas and away from her loved ones
+ "White 2012" is the 'advanced' version of "White Noise" which showed up in Blodwen's debut album "Black Symphony"

METAL WARS 2013 and Ending the Year

We are very honored to be invited to headline in Metal Wars 2013! This is the first time Blodwen played in Surabaya and it's definitely not the last. The crowd and the bands playing were crazy! We felt very home in Surabaya, everyone was very welcoming and it'll be an unforgettable journey for us in the future. Hopefully this first (and furthest tour so far) to East Java will start a movement next year where we can visit other cities nation-wide and visit all the Blood Children in Indonesia! (And someday... outside the country).

December is coming to an end soon, and next year will be a busy time for Blodwen. We will be releasing our 2nd full-length album in 2014, and hopefully will be able to shoot our first long-overdue PV somewhere around the year. We are currently in negotiations with a label from Germany who is interested in releasing our 2nd album world-wide. More updates when it's confirmed will be officially released soon. In the mean time, stay tuned for more news and watch this vlog below!

BLODWEN is Featured in Amboss Magazine (Germany)!

First of all, we'd like to thank Andreas from Amboss Magazine (Germany) who was kind enough to give us this review (in German) of When Autumn Ends EP. Although we only understand a little bit since it's in German (there's so much you can do with Google Translate...) but from the gist of it, it seems that our EP is well-liked. We reminded Amboss Magz of Howard Shore - one of the most recognized composers in the world today; which is a huge honor for us.

Here's what Amboss Magz said (via Google Translate, some grammatical errors have been altered but the rest of it is as close as the real broken translation):

...Like a soundtrack of a fantasy movie comes the dreamy, occupied with orchestral charm "Blue Romance". It's very quiet and presented with multi-faceted vocals, and it seduces the listener to fall into a strange world of thoughts. While in other songs the bombastic orientation reminded the listener of composer Howard Shore rather than Wagner when it's concerned. After a short classical interlude ("Once Upon a Time") builds "Riverfall" at the point where "Eye of Storm" has begun. Punchy strings, beguiling melodies, seductive vocals and a knack for dramatic song structure with cleverly placed tempo changes.

A truly successful work for fans of Nightwish or Within Temptation with a tantalizing hint of the exotic.
